North Sylamore Creek
About
Wild & Scenic designation protects 13 miles of North Sylamore Creek as it drops through U.S. Forest Service lands at Class I-II difficulty. Spring-fed flows average 49 CFS, with an optimal paddling window between 25–70 CFS on USGS gauge 07060710. The creek runs three distinct sections — upper, middle, and lower — each offering different character as the gradient shifts downstream. At these flows, North Sylamore requires precise timing and local knowledge of recent rainfall, as the narrow channel becomes unrunnable when water drops below 25 CFS or pushes much above the optimal range.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
