Speed River
About
The Speed River flows 83 kilometers through Ontario as a major tributary of the Grand River system, part of the Canadian Heritage River watershed. Above Guelph at the Eramosa confluence, the river runs quiet flatwater through rural sections. The urban corridor through Guelph itself provides park access points for launching, while the stretch from Guelph downstream to Cambridge maintains Class I character through farmland before joining the Grand River. Water Survey gauge 02GA047 monitors conditions on this system that drains central Ontario's agricultural region.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
