Loxahatchee River
About
Wild & Scenic since 1985, the Loxahatchee runs 7.6 miles of Class I water through Palm Beach and Martin counties at an average 120 CFS. The full designated stretch from Riverbend Park to Jonathan Dickinson State Park follows the complete Wild & Scenic corridor, while Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park offers a shorter 2-mile family option. Optimal flows range from 50 to 300 CFS on USGS gauge 02277600. Canoe Outfitters of Florida provides gear and shuttles for the run. The river maintains its Wild & Scenic protection through the state park system, keeping development pressure at bay along this short but significant South Florida waterway.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
