Sturgeon River (UP)

Designated Wild & Scenic and managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the Sturgeon River runs 42 miles through remote forest corridor at an average of 189 CFS. Optimal flows range from 90 to 275 CFS, monitored at USGS gauge 04057510. The river divides into three main sections: County Road 440 to Fourteen Mile Bridge, Fourteen Mile Bridge to Flowing Well Campground, and Flowing Well Campground to County Road 497. As part of the designated water trail system, the Sturgeon offers multi-day wilderness paddling through protected forest lands with established camping at Flowing Well Campground.
