Jacks Fork River
About
Part of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways since 1964, the Jacks Fork runs 55 miles of Class I-II water through Shannon and Texas counties at an average 420 CFS. The river operates in a wide optimal range from 200 to 1,500 CFS, tracked on USGS gauge 07065200. Jacks Fork Canoe Rental and Alley Spring Outfitters service the corridor with rental gear and shuttles. The National Park Service manages the entire watershed as the first federally protected riverway in the United States, established three years before the National Wild & Scenic Rivers Act created that broader system.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
