Lamprey River
About
Wild & Scenic designation protects 24 miles of the Lamprey River through seven distinct sections, from Mary Blair Park downstream to Piscassic Park. At 292 CFS average flow with an optimal range of 150–450 CFS, paddlers can monitor conditions through USGS gauge 01073500. The river passes notable landmarks including Wadleigh Falls and Packers Falls, with access points at Epping Town Hall, Route 87 Bridge, Captain Reuben Hill, and John Hatch Park. Private ownership along much of the corridor means the Wild & Scenic designation provides the primary protection for this New Hampshire waterway.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
