Musconetcong River
About
Wild & Scenic since 2006, the Musconetcong runs 42 miles from Lake Hopatcong through Morris and Warren counties to the Delaware River. The upper section from Lake Hopatcong to Hackettstown drops through Highland headwaters with Class I-II water, while the lower valley run to the Delaware flattens to Class I. At 240 CFS average (optimal range 100-500), the river offers reliable paddling through much of the season. The Musconetcong Watershed Association manages both conservation efforts and outfitting services along the corridor. USGS gauge 01457000 provides current flow data for trip planning.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
