Grand River
About
From Ashtabula and Lake counties, the Grand River flows 98 miles at an average of 1,200 CFS through Ohio's northeastern corridor. Designated as an Ohio Scenic River, it runs Class I through Class III water with optimal flows between 300 and 2,000 CFS. The Grand River Wildlife Area protects significant stretches of the corridor. USGS gauge 04212100 tracks conditions, and Grand River Canoe Livery provides outfitter services along the route. The river's substantial flow and range of difficulty levels accommodate different paddling objectives as conditions change throughout the season.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
