Little Miami River
About
Through Greene and Warren counties, the Little Miami cuts a 105-mile corridor that became one of the nation's first National Scenic Rivers in 1973. The upper gorge section from John Bryan State Park to Xenia runs Class I-II water through limestone walls, while the lower stretches from Xenia through Morrow to Milford settle into steady Class I current alongside the Little Miami Scenic Trail. At 1,200 CFS average with an optimal range of 300–2,000 CFS, the river maintains good paddling flow through most seasons. USGS gauge 03245500 tracks conditions for the system. Little Miami Canoe Rental operates on the corridor, handling shuttle logistics for day trips. The Ohio Scenic River designation provides additional state-level protection for the watershed.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
