Brule River
About
Spring-fed flows of 346 CFS average sustain 100 miles of river through northern Wisconsin, with optimal paddling between 170–525 CFS on USGS gauge 04060993. The Brule runs under Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources management through three main access sections: from Brule River Campground to Highway 139/189, continuing to Forest Road 2150, then finishing at Brule River Flowage. Cold water and consistent flows make this a year-round fishery, though specific species data and water temperatures aren't tracked at the gauge station.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
