Greys River
About
Through Lincoln County's Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Greys River drops 60 miles from high mountain meadows to its confluence with the Snake. At 800 CFS average, the river runs cleanest between 300–2000 CFS on gauge 13023000. The upper section flows Class I through open meadow country, while the middle Greys picks up gradient and technical difficulty in the forested canyon, pushing Class I–II water through boulder gardens and ledge drops. The lower section spreads wide again as it approaches the Snake River confluence, returning to Class I water through the valley bottom. Greys River Outfitters operates guided trips on the system, focusing on the middle canyon section where the whitewater peaks and the forest closes in tight to the banks.
River conditions are community-verified. CFS ranges, difficulty ratings, and access points may not reflect every flow level or seasonal change. Always check current conditions, scout unfamiliar rapids, and paddle within your skill level.
